DanielCaffeineThe winning  haiku was chosen and announced on 11/12/2012. Written by Daniel Nathan Cox of San Diego, the new proud possessor of a Tiffany’s Jazz Diamond Ring:

Trauma is armor

Evil wears it endlessly

But love strips it bare

So, it’s not like Joseph is going to choose the haiku that gets tattooed on him – this winner and tattoo is to be chosen by Dawne Leiker, a journalist out of Hays, Kansas. Here’s her bio:

Dawne Leiker has accumulated a couple of decades in the newspaper business, both on the advertising and news side. Currently a local government reporter and performance arts reviewer for The Hays Daily News, Leiker also writes features and general news stories.

She attained both her masters of liberal studies degree in journalism/public relations and undergraduate degree in political science at Fort Hays State University.

We’re now working with the Colorado Veterans Resource Coalition out of Colorado Springs, in addition to the joint VA and Coalition for the Homeless program in Denver.
